Nova espècie fitxada: abella solitària. Probablement una Osmia o Megachille.

Solitary bee on Calendula officinalis

Adoren les flors planes. A diferència de l'abella de la mel, aquesta sembla que prefereix "treballar" amb els peus a terra, i no en ple vol.

Milují květy na kterých můžou chodit. Na rozdíl od včely medonosné, ty nemají tak rády opylování při letu.

They love flat flowers, since they do not especially seem to like pollinating while flying.

A diferència de les abelles de la mel, aquestes es poden passar hores sobre la flor, alimentant-se de pol·len i nèctar. Fins i tot les he vistes passant la nit dins de flors tancades de boixet. Els he proveït cànules buides i fang per si se'ls acut reproduir-se aquí.

Na rozdíl od včely medonosné, tyto včelky mohou trávit celé hodiny na květu, kde se živí pýlem a nektarem. Dokonce i noc tráví v květu měsíčku lékařského, který v noci (bez světla) se zavírá. Dál jsem tam duté stonky a bahno jen v připadě, že by se chtěly u mne množit.

Unlike honeybees, this kind of bee can stay for hours on the flower, calmly grazing for pollen and nectar. I have even seen them spending the night inside the closed Calendula flowers. I have provided hollow tubes and some mud in case they want to breed here.

Pokus hnojení mrkví kávou

Využítá káva má NPK příblížně 2.0 / 0.36 / 0.67. Třeba by pro mrkve byl by lepší nějaké hnojivo bohatější na fosfor, ale stejně může to být zajímavý experiment.

Na snímku je vidět jak mrkvím nalevo se dáří mnohem líp. To je kvůli tomu, že na květináči jsem dál vermikompost před několika měsici. A ve čtverečném květináči napravo je jenom stará půda s kokosem. 

Tak zkusím, jak odpovědí mrkve na dodání zhruba 15g využité mleté kávy.

He collit un petit enciam 'Reina de Maig'. (llavor pròpia). Cultivada en test de 2000 cm3 substrat antic reciclat enriquit només amb vermicompost.
Sklidil jsem malý salát 'Májová Královna'. Pěstován v květináči 2000 cm3 na starém substrátu jen zbohacený vermikompostem.
I just harvested a small 'May Queen' lettuce.Grown in a  small (2000 cm3) pot filled with old recycled substrate, enriched with vermicompost.

During defoliation for my salad I observed a couple of "guys".

Sembla que al final no m'escaparé de menjar proteïna animal. No es pot ser vegetarià.
Vypadá, že i v salátu dostanu živočišnou bílkovinu. Být vegetariánem prostě není možný.
It looks like I'm gonna have some animal protein after all (a leaf miner). One cannot be a vegetarian.

Cicadèl·lid toca-collons

Menys de 12 hores ha necessitat aquest herbívor per descobrir el meu Solanum muricatum. Espero que les aranyes saltícides no s'ho pensin gaire tampoc.

Ještě ne celých 12 hodin potřeboval tento pidikříšek, aby objevil moje Solanum muricatum. Doufám, že skákací pavouci taky nebudou trvat.

Less than 12 hours were necessary for the leafhopper to discover my Solanum muricatum. I hope it won't take long for the predative jumping spiders either.

Prové de: INDOOR. Làmpada d'halur de metall de 250W 10/14. Substrat de fibra de coco + vermicompost casolà. Temperatures entre 18-25 ºC. Absència de fitòfags.

Va a : terrasseta-1, exterior. Orientació sud-oest. Recipient tèxtil on estiu passat hi va créixer una altra solanàcia (tomaquera) i durant tardor-hivern hi ha crescut fabàcies (Pisum sativum) i caputxina (Tropaeolum majus). A la terrassa hi ha fitòfags: trips i cicadèl·lids. També hi ha depredadors: aranyes saltícides (mantenen cicadèl·lids a ratlla) i orius (trips a ratlla). Flora atractora de depredadors: Lobularia maritima. Fauna del sòl observada: porquets de Sant Antoni (isòpodes), centípedes (Lithobius forficatus), colèmbols.

Going to: small-terrace-1, outside. SW exposition. Fabric-type pot occupied last summer by other solanaceae (tomato) and recently (autumn and winter) by Fabaceae (Pisum sativum) and nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus). Herbivorous species are present in the terrace: thrips and leafhoppers. Also goodies present: salticid spiders (keeping leafhoppers at bay) and orius (thrips predators). Flowers attracting goodies: sweet allyssum (Lobularia maritima). Observed fauna: Sow bugs, centipedes (Lithobius forficatus), springtails.

Ningú pràctic cultiva llenties en hort urbà perquè la quantitat produïda no sortirà a compte.
Nikdo praktický si nepěstuje doma čočky, protože malá úroda nestojí za tu námahu.
Nobody with a practical sense will grow lentils at home because the small harvest is worthless.

rosella / mák vlčí / poppy

Plàntules de rosella han emergit a diverses zones. Vénen totes del vermicompost. L'estiu passat vaig afegir branquetes de rosella als cucs i devien contenir algunes llavors.

Sazeničky máku se objevily na několik místech. Pocházejí z vermikompostu. Minulé léto jsem dal stonky máku vlčího do bedny žížal a na těch stoncích měly ta semena být.

Poppy seedlings have emerged at different places. All of them with added vermicompost. Last summer I added some poppy stems for the worms and these might contain some seeds as well.
